Mama Jane was born in 1929 in Doyle, Texas. Mama Jane was a loving person and inspired to be a licensed beautician and accomplished that goal. She did many Black women’s hair in Groesbeck, Texas. She loved to sing, and one of her favorite songs to sing was “Before this time another year.” She was married to Charles Ray Cooper. The two of them had 11 children. One of Mama Jane's favorite sayings was “Take care of each other and don't let years go by without checking on each other”. She was always eager to go to family reunions to make sure her children knew who their relatives were.
